  Oaks High School

  AYSO; 3 years

Dina is the oldest of the four Palmisano sisters. She began High School in 1977, when title lX was just
beginning its effect in women sports.  I remember Dina starting little league baseball with me in 1976.
She must have heard all the put down for participating in a boys baseball league.  However, once they
saw how good she was that criticism soon stop. Dina was the best player out on the field, you might
say she was playing baseball among boys.  She was definitely in a class by herself.  Dina grew up in
an era were girls athletics wasn’t too popular. She didn’t get the records and accolades that her
younger sister did, but she definitely could have competed in the same league.
Dina Palmisano – Poteracke paved the way in sports for her sisters.
