Boarding House
As a sophomore Nicole Greathouse ranked second on the team with 217 total rebounds and an average of 7.2 boards per game. She grabbed eight or more boards in a game 12 times during the year, with a season-high of 15 in the Gauchos' victory over Arizona State in the Thunderdome. In that game she grabbed a season best six offensive rebounds and nine of the defensive variety. She also had one three-game stretch during the year where she grabbed at least ten rebounds.

The Starting Line
In her first two seasons as a Gaucho, Greathouse has started 62 of the Gauchos' 63 games. As a freshman she started all 33 games for Mark French, and started 29 of UCSB's 30 games last season. Although she made all of her starts as a center, she did play a lot of the four spot as a sophomore, and even played a little at the wing.

The Big Three
One of the most memorable moments from the 1998-99 season came when Greathouse hit one of the biggest shots of career in Madison, Wisconsin. With the Gauchos down by three and just seconds remaining, the sophomore sank a three-pointer just before time expired to send the game into overtime, silencing the hostile crowd of nearly 8,000 Badger fans. The three-pointer became a much more prevalent part of Greathouse's game last year. She hit 20 bombs in 60 attempts (.333) from beyond the arc.

Freebies
In her first two seasons at UCSB, Greathouse has proven herself to be one of the best free throw shooters on the team. After a freshman season that saw her shoot a very respectable 70.4% from the charity stripe, the Ventura native shot at a 74.4% clip as a sophomore, the third highest mark on the team.

On The Hill
Following last season, Greathouse was a late addition to the UCSB softball team for whom she made her collegiate debut on the diamond. A storied pitcher out of Buena High School, Liz Kelly jumped at the chance to add Greathouse to her pitching rotation. She put in 28.2 innings of work in her short time with the team, including six scoreless innings against Santa Clara to earn her first collegiate victory.
