Arizona: Hanson figures to contend for a role in the lineup this year after apprenticeship behind a three- time All-American last year (Lety Pineda)... She contributed in 1998 and brings a good attitude to the mix... In her opportunities, she did well and contributed 11 runs as a pinch runner, plus recorded a .393 on base percentage because she drew eight bases on balls in 28 plate appearances... Also drove in four runs, two of those on sacrifice fly balls in one game... Did not commit an error in several appearances at the bag... First base is a natural softball position for a lefty like Hanson... Coaches expect her to get more chances to develop as a hitter...
