Four Softball
Players Claim Regional All-America Honors
Three Cardinal selected to First
Team All-Pacific Region.
May 24, 1999
STANFORD, Calif. - Four members of the Stanford University softball
team were named All-Pacific Region by the NFCA. Three players were named
First Team All-Pacific Region, including freshman outfielder Jessica Mendoza
(Camarillo, CA), senior shortstop Michelle Schneider (Los Alamitos, CA)
and freshman second baseman Robin Walker (La Palma, CA). The only Stanford
player who was named Second Team All-Pacific Region was sophomore catcher
Kellie Wiginton (Fresno, CA), who received that honor for the second consecutive
season. The players were selected by a vote of the region's head coaches.
