She is great at a wide variety of sports. The best softball game that I saw was in 1994 at the Thousand Oaks Softball Tournament. It was a great pitching duel between Simi's Sara and Buena's freshman Nicole Greathouse, who plays basketball at UCSB. The game ended with a 1-0 score and it was all pitcher & catcher. And I was there to see Sara BLAST the winning homerun for the Championship Title at Mayfield Park for Simi High. Like a lot of good athletes, Sara started playing sports when she was 5 years old and has worked hard ever since. This site is for her and her fans. And her uncle looks like Garry Shandling. Conference history with her 6-0 shutout of Iowa. Griffin, who is 106-19 at the end of four seasons, passed Lisa Ishikawa who had 97 all-time wins with the Northwestern program (1984-87). . . . .The 1998 NCAA Softball Recordbook shows just 14 Division I players with 100 or more career pitching wins. The all-time leader is Debbie Nichols who tallied 149 wins (149-45) during her 1987-90 career at Louisiana Tech. for the fourth time in her Michigan career. She had a GREAT 1998 season even though last season she broke her arm in a collision with a teammate. Sara came to U of M in 94 and helped the team just as much as the team helped her. She was was named both Big Ten Player and Freshman of the Year. She set a lot of records during her stay. She is one amazing athlete... I hope she coaches so she can spread her skills. Here is a letter Sara emailed to me on June 4, 1998 ![]() |
